Aspiring music students now have a new opportunity for academic and artistic growth. Virtuous Voices Academy, a singing academy serving students in Brentwood, Antioch, and online, has earned initial accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) through June 30, 2029.
Founded by Tiffany “CoachTea” Stewart, Virtuous Voices Academy provides vocal training, music theory, sight-singing, and performance-based education for students pursuing music, musical theatre, scholarships, AP Music Theory preparation, and fine arts credit opportunities.
“This is a huge deal for my program,” said Stewart. “It allows me to provide more support for students who want to pursue music seriously and need access to quality fine arts education.”
Stewart founded Virtuous Voices Academy in 2008 after graduating from college and has since worked to build a family-friendly music community for homeschool, charter school, public school, and private students.
The academy’s signature course, Sing Theory, helps singers learn music theory through solfège, sight-reading, aural training, and vocal development. While Sing Theory is not an official AP course through the College Board, it supports students preparing for the AP Music Theory Exam and may help students qualify for fine arts or elective credit, depending on their school or district guidelines.
“As a singer, I teach other voices to sing one note at a time,” Stewart said. “Sight-singing is like reading a book, one note at a time. Every song is a story, and every singer is a storyteller.”
Virtuous Voices Academy also offers Royal Conservatory certification support and helps students prepare for auditions, scholarships, and future opportunities in music.
